Ellen Roberts

Ellen is originally from Alexandria, Virginia. She started training in ballet at age 6 at the Washington School of Ballet and fell in love with it immediately.  In sixth grade she performed her first professional show as Baby Louise in Gypsy at Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA.

 

 For high school, she recieved a ballet scholarship to UNCSA and moved away from home at 14. She eventually found her way back to musical theatre as a senior in high school, where she made the switch to Metropolitan School of the Arts in Virginia. It was here she realized her dream was to be a musical theater performer. Post high school, she moved to Nashville to join Nashville Ballet's trainee program while applying to schools for musical theater.   

 

She received her BFA from Boston Conservatory as a Musical Theatre major with a dance emphasis. Right after graduating, she started touring as a swing with the 25th Anniversary Tour of Disney’s Beauty and The Beast. She is in her second year of the tour now and is loving every second of it.​​​ 

 

Her reason for performing is to inspire young girls that they too can go after what they want, even if they don’t perfectly fit into one mold. She hopes to continue teaching dance alongside performing to gift the next generation with a nurturing environment to learn and grow freely, without insecurity or fear of being judged. The power to change someone’s day with a dance move or a smile is never lost on her.
